It’s well documented that Thusi is not everyone’s favourite celebrity. From the things she has said that were taken out of context, to comments made about her natural-born physical appearance, it is not farfetched to suggest that she has taken her fair share of battering on social media.
The actress and TV host sat down with Mbau for a tell-all about the controversial star whose rise to stardom — in a way — mimicked that of Kim Kardashian.
You will remember that Thusi was lambasted by her hate train for her perceived insensitive attitude towards the death of Mbau’s father.
Thusi commented, “hectic” beneath Mbau’s post that shared the unfortunate news. Most people felt that the comment was tone-deaf and lacked empathy.
However, Thusi explained that she and Mbau had already shared a moment on the episode of Behind The Story which aired on Wednesday evening.

What was not revealed, however, was the part of the interview that touched on colourism. The subject came in the part of Mbau’s story that dealt with her attitude towards skin bleaching.
Things quickly turned to the privileges of light-skinned talents in an industry that champions appearance over skillsets and that’s what triggered Thusi into tears.
The 32-year-old could not contain her emotions as she stared right into the camera to address her detractors.
