While more details of the show have yet to be announced, it has been confirmed that iTV, the rightsholder of the Love Island franchise has approved Multichoice’s licence to recreate the reality TV show for South Africa’s audience.

What is the reality TV show about?
For those who don’t dabble much in the fantasy world of reality TV, Love Island is a contest that pits single men and women in gruelling situations, all in the name of ‘love’.
Contestants must form romantic bonds with their respective significant other and by all means, avoid falling into the lustful seduction of new entrants.
The purpose of the game is to test out the loyalty and resilience of a couple but that’s not the only trick to winning the prize.
Viewers get to vote for their favourite couple and those who falter to lust and ruin their newly formed situationships are eliminated.
