SA latest news: Khayelitsha is the first township to record a COVID-19 case
South Africa has been in lockdown for four days and law enforcement has made strides in containing movement in townships and urban areas.
More information on the details of the lockdown can be found here.
However, this did not prevent the unwanted arrival of the virus in clustered and high-risk townships.
Khayelitsha, on Sunday, recorded its first known case of COVID-19. This has mounted fears that the virus will spread even faster in informal areas.
The health ministry is expected to deliver the latest updates on COVID-19 on Monday, and Khayelitsha will be a focal point for the Western Cape.
