The Sani Mountain Lodge, nestled in Lesotho’s Mkhomazi Wilderness area, was the perfect host for a snowball fight this past weekend.

Earlier last week, Swisher Post, with the help of Ventusky.com and the Snow Report, predicted flakey weather for this weekend in Lesotho and bordering parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape.
While snowfall may have fallen in eastern high-lying areas of the Western Cape on Friday, 20 May 2022, this set of pictures from Lesotho’s popular holiday destinations took social media by storm.
This video clip shows a family enjoying a night of frisky fun on the snow-lathered lodge.

When is the perfect time to catch snow in Lesotho?
Lesotho is one of the few areas prone to snowfall in Southern Africa. According to iExplore, the country, nestled within the borders of South Africa, often sees high temperatures between October and April, with conditions cooling the higher in altitude you go.
This is why mountainous regions in Lesotho are prone to cold and wet weather all year round. However, if you want to catch snow, it’s best to visit high-altitude areas between March and May.
