Namibia announces changes to visa procedures
The Namibian Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security has announced significant changes to the country’s visa procedures.
Aimed at streamlining entry processes and increasing security, these changes will take effect on 1 April 2025.
Among the updates, visa fees for travellers from non-African Union (AU) member states will rise from N$1,200 to N$1,600 per person. Travellers from AU member states will continue to pay the existing fee of N$1,200.
To simplify the process, the “visa on arrival form” will be merged with the “arrival form,” and the “departure form” will be discontinued.
This change aims to make entry and exit procedures more efficient for visitors.
In a recent video clip, Deputy Minister Lucia Witbooi outlined the goals of these changes, emphasising the importance of enhancing security while maintaining a welcoming environment for tourists and business travellers.
The new visa procedures are part of Namibia’s broader effort to bolster its immigration policies and ensure a smooth experience for international visitors.
