Techno geeks around the globe have pinned their alarm clocks to 19:00 for the much-anticipated Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2020), where Tim Cook is expected to make interesting announcements about the future of Apple products.
WWDC 2020: Will Tim Cook announce the chip move?
As reported by CNet, the excitement around this virtual event has less to do with the new products and software Apple will tease.
Instead, developers will keep an ear out for Cook’s announcement of Apple’s rumoured move away from Intel chips to ARM-based models.
The future of the leading tech giant is largely dependent on executing this massive transfer so that leaner laptop designs, powerful battery life and seamless cooling systems can be a realistic outlook.
However, this has not been confirmed by Apple and so, the wait begins.
