The leading smartphone manufacturer sent out invites last week, teasing an unveiling on Tuesday but careful to not reveal what exactly is on the cards.
Per Forbes, expert techies believe Apple will unveil the new and improved iPhone SE, the cheapest smartphone on the tech giant’s catalogue.
From what we understand, the virtual event will be held on Tuesday 8 March 2022 and is expected to kick off at 20:00 CAT. You can also tune into the live event below:

If, indeed, Tuesday’s virtual presentation is the official unveiling of the iPhone SE 2022, then techies predict the new edition to Apple’s quintessential small device will be jam-packed with the best features on the market.
Renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo hinted, in a tweet, that the iPhone SE 2022 could be packed with the following features:
- Storage capacity ranging from 64GB to 256GB;
- A15 & 5G support (mmWave and Sub-6 GHz);
- Casings available in white, black and red; and
- Similar form factor design to current iPhone SE

How to buy iPhone SE 2022 in South Africa
Of course, more accurate information will come from Tuesday’s event if, indeed, the presentation is about the iPhone SE 2022. At this time, it remains to be seen if the new SE edition will be available for purchase in South Africa.
According to Kuo, however, mass production on the iPhone is expected to kick off in March 2022, with at least 25 million (max 30 million_ units slated for global shipping in 2022.
Currently, iPhone SE prices start from R9 399. Therefore, the 2022 edition is expected to have a similar base price.
