Google has added new cams and doorbells to its line of smart home products, Google Nest, on Thursday.
Google adds new cams and doorbells
Google says that the new battery-powered Nest Cam and Nest Doorbell are available for preorder today and will go on sale on 24 August 2021. The company says that Nest Cam with floodlight and the new wired indoor Nest Cam will be coming soon.
Among some of the things that Google has added to improve its line of smart home products include wire-free designs that make installation easier, products that work well together, floodlights in case of power or WiFi outage, and designs that complement home decor.
What is Google Nest bringing with the new devices?
The company says that its next generation of cameras and doorbells is made to bring its customers useful alerts. They will also have technology that detects important events that happen in and around the home, including alerts for people, animals, and vehicles. Customers won’t have to subscribe to reap off these benefits.
Google also adds a wire-free element to its devices for easier and convenient installation. Instead, the new cameras will use Battery technology. However, customers who wish to wire their devices still have a wide range of accessories to choose from on Google Store.
The new cams also allow customers to have a look at their backyard while the doorbell rings. They are also fully integrated with the Google Home app, giving customers access to all compatible home devices in one place. To add even more safety customers have an option to subscribe to Nest Aware and extend their event video history from three hours to 30 or 60 days.
