Adobe announced on Tuesday that it is releasing new features in Photoshop on iPad and desktop, which will be discussed in more detail in an Adobe Live event that will take place on 18 August 2021 and 19 August 2021, with Anna McNaught and Jesús Ramirez.
Adobe introduces Photoshop on iPad
Photoshop will now deliver the same magical Healing Brush capabilities on the iPad as on the desktop. Users can now correct imperfections by painting with sampled pixels from the image or pattern by using the Apple Pencil. There are settings and controls including diffusion, blend modes, and brush angle. The Healing Brush is placed under the healing tools on the toolbar.
In this new update, Adobe also added the Magic Wand tool, which is useful in quickly extracting objects from a flat background, select an irregularly shaped area, or select a distinctly coloured element. The tool can select areas of your images based on tone and colour, easily adjust for tolerance and many other characteristics so you can get the most precise selection results. The Magic Wand tool is under the selection tools on the toolbar.
iPad user will also be able to seamlessly share their canvas live with other on a larger screen. This will be possible by connecting the iPad to any external monitor or TV display with HDMI or USB-C. And this will project the canvas onto that display, full screen and without the Photoshop UI, letting you show your document as you edit it live. How cool is that? To get access to this feature you will have to go to the settings and enable it and then you will be good to go.
More updates to Photoshop
Sky Replacement will now have more new skies to choose from and you will have the ability to import up to 5 000 skies at once.
There will be improvements to the Transform Warp feature. You will now be able to adjust warp guidelines so they are easier to see against the colour of your image. Other settings you will be able to adjust to your liking include when and how many warp guides to display.
Photographer Anna McNaught and digital graphics expert Jesús Ramirez will be showcasing the new features during the Adobe Live event. On the first day, they will use some of Anna’s travel photos to show how to turn normal skies into spectacular or surreal skies with the newly improved Sky Replacement presets for Adobe Photoshop on the desktop. On the second day, they will demonstrate how to remove blemishes and distracting objects from an image with the new Healing Brush feature and the editing superpowers of Photoshop’s Magic Wand tool.
