What to expect on ‘Ultimate Team’ in FC 25
According to Gordon Farquhar, Product Manager at EA Sports FC, FC 25 introduces several updates to Ultimate Team, aiming to freshen up gameplay and reward players across multiple game modes.
The FC Season structure has been revamped to include Career Mode and Clubs, allowing for rewards to be unlocked in any mode you choose to play.
Season 1, titled Total Rush, emphasises teamwork and competitive objectives, rewarding players with exclusive Player Items designed for the small-sided, fast-paced Rush gameplay mode.
Throughout the six-week season, players can unlock special rewards by progressing through Rush Objectives, alongside completing traditional Ultimate Team tasks.
Additionally, FC 25 introduces the World Tour mode, starting in Spain.
Each season will focus on a particular nation or league, and for Season 1, players can build teams using Spanish football superstars.
Weekly objectives themed around La Liga and Liga F will offer further opportunities to strengthen your squad.
Special Squad Foundation Players will also grant extra chemistry points, making team-building more flexible.
Gordon Farquhar said:
“We want to make Ultimate Team more engaging by offering different ways to play and win rewards without forcing players into modes they aren’t interested in. You’ll be able to get the same rewards by sticking to your favourite mode, whether that’s Ultimate Team, Career, or Clubs.”
Ultimate Team Week 1: Here’s everything you must know
For players eager to dive into Ultimate Team from day one, there’s plenty to look forward to.
Early access players will have access to Team of the Week 1, which features upgraded player cards.
Other Week 1 content includes Rush Objectives, Player of the Month SBCs (Squad Building Challenges), and the start of World Tour with Spanish-themed content.
Ultimate Team’s competitive scene kicks off with changes to the Champions Play-offs and Champions Finals.
Players will now need to win 3 out of 5 games in the Play-offs to qualify for the Finals, down from the previous 4 out of 10 wins needed in FC 24.
The Finals, aimed at more experienced players, now offer even bigger rewards for top-tier finishes.
A player finishing Rank 1 in the Finals could earn rewards like 200,000 coins, a Base Icon Pack, and several player packs.
The first week will also see the return of Season Points, which track progress through different objectives.
These points will contribute toward unlocking new customisation options and squad-building rewards, all tied into the broader “Total Rush” theme of the season.
