What charges are Thug and Gunna facing?
The US has two types of prosecution, state and federal. The former is handled at a more local level, while the latter, on the other hand, deals with serious crimes committed across state lines.
Thug, real name Jeffrey Williams, Sergio ‘Gunna’ Kitchens, and 26 other YSL members are listed in a 56-count grand jury indictment for their alleged street gang activities.
Of the two rappers, Thug faces the heap of serious allegations, including:
- conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act;
- participation in street gang activity;
- renting a 2014 Infiniti Q50 sedan from Hertz , which was used in the commission of the murder of Donovan Thomas Jr, a rival gang member;
- masterminding the attempted murder of YFN Lucci while he was held in custody at Fulton County Jail
Gunna, it seems, was arrested by mere affiliation to the YSL gang. According to WSB-TV’s Michael Seiden, the DS4EVER rapper is accused of appearing in social media-released video titled Fox 5, wearing a “YSL” pendant and a “Slatt” pendant, with lyrics stating “We got ten-hundred round choppers.”
The rappers are expected to appear in court on Tuesday. At the time this article was published, both Thug and Gunna were held in custody at the Fulton County Jail.
