Young Dolph’s career as a successful indie rapper
Born Adolph Robert Thornton Jr on 27 July 1985, the Get Paid rapper hailed from Chicago, Illinois. Dolph, however, always claimed Memphis, Tennessee as his hometown since he moved to the city with his family at the age of two.
Dolph, it’s believed, was a sibling to two sisters and two brothers. He was also the cousin of the late JuiceWRLD.
This is not the first shooting incident the rapper has been involved with, in his rap career.
In 2017, hot on the trail of the southern music industry with hit singles Get Paid and Cut It on the circuit, Dolph was targeted in a shooting that took place in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Miraculously, the rapper, struck multiple times and picked up by emergency officials in critical condition, survived and recovered well.
However, that this time around, he was not that fortunate.
Here’s how social media reacted to the news of Dolph’s passing:
From what I’m hearing, Young Dolph went to pick up food and got ambushed, he returned fire but got hit several times and succumbed to the injuries he sustained.

What hurts the most about this Young Dolph news is his chemistry with Key Glock was second to none, their collabs was always flames. They really had something special man.

RIP Young Dolph, the Memphis people’s champ–the answer to what if the Delta Blues was rap and funny. An antihero whose hysterical punchlines and flashiness often overshadowed a deep conscience, introspection, generosity and dedication to building an independent empire. A legend. pic.twitter.com/X51frc4oeb
