With a disappointing 2020/2021 PSL season behind him, Orlando Pirates defender Wayde Jooste had one last assignment on his hands.

This past weekend, Jooste took a grand leap of faith and got on his knee to pop the question to his longtime girlfriend Kaylyn Lawrence at the Parys Golf and Country Estate in Vaal, Free State.
Witness to this tear-jerking moment was his teammate Linda Mntambo who could barely contain his emotions when Lawrence turned around to find Jooste on his knee, holding out an engagement ring.
“May the both of you never stop loving each other, wishing you love, luck and happiness to last today, tomorrow and ever after,” Mntambo wrote in an Instagram post.

Who is Kaylyn Lawrence? – Here’s what we know
If Jooste is the last line of defence in the household, then Lawrence, by all accounts, is the brains. The soccer star’s fiancee is not one for the glitz and glam. Therefore, it was not an easy task, finding information about her.
However, we did our digging and from what we found, this is the surface profile of Jooste’s future wifey:
- She is from KwaZulu-Natal (KZN)
- She graduated matric in 2014 at Durban North College
- She is on course to complete her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of KZN, in 2023
- Her part-time work involves running student marketing campaigns for Red Bull.
In her own words, Lawrence describes herself as “an outgoing and hardworking young lady.”
It may be a bit too early for all the wedding details but the world of SA football will be keen to witness Jooste trading vows with his sweetheart at the altar.
