Uncle Vinny will draw a few lessons from the hiccup he recently experienced at an event in Accra, Ghana.
Uncle Vinny fumbles ‘raining man’ in Accra
Vinny is part of a South African cohort of Amapiano entertainers on a continental tour led by Major League DJs and, on Tuesday, the crew stopped by in Accra for the Bhim Concert which took place at the Grand Arena conference centre.
Buzzing sets from South African acts, which included a highly anticipated performance from Uncle Waffles, highlighted the scale of influence Amapiano has in Africa. However, Vinny, who was on stage as the show’s MC, made things awkward when, at the height of the buzz, he attempted a ‘raining man’ and, suffice it to say, the crowd was far from pleased.
The raining man is a tactic used by performers to increase the hype at events where stacks of money are thrown at crowds. Usually, this sends the venue into complete pandemonium, with partygoers scrambling to grab hold of the bank notes.
However, in Accra, or at this event at least, this was not a welcomed gesture.
As you will see below, Vinny’s attempt at causing a stampede failed dismally and, instead, the crowd stood awkwardly still, looking displeased with the South African entertainer’s obnoxious displays.

Vinny, however, seems unbothered by the heckling he’s received on social media for his unpleasant antics. The famed MC is scheduled to appear as a host next to Ghana’s Kojo Manuel and Berima Sean Bills at the Wild West Africa party taking place at Front/Back in Accra on Friday 24 December 2021.
Here’s how social media reacted to the fail:
I don't know what's worse between being mized after greeting in a Taxi and what happened to Uncle Vinny.
