Houston, TX, up-and-comer Erica Banks released a four-minute dissertation attempting to clear the air after veteran rapper Nicki Minaj blocked her on social media.
Why did Nicki Minaj block Erica Banks?
Speculation is rife on why the queen of rap music unfollowed Banks, but fans believe the decision came after the entry-level rapper who recently beefed with Megan Thee Stallion over ongoing label woes, agreed to sentiments shared by Baby Tate about Nicki’s apparent refusal to honour her proteges with a feature.
In the video clip she released on Instagram, Banks explained her support of Baby Tate’s sentiments came from a place of hurt as a fan whose career-long dream has always to get recognition from her idol.
Banks made it clear that she never unfollowed or blocked Nicki. In fact, it was the contrary.
“Nicki Minaj blocked me, y’all. Yesterday, y’all, blocked me! I’m talking about I’m in shambles like, ‘What is going on? Why is this happening?’ I’m serious, I’m being real with ya’ll. I’m having a real moment right now. A real fan moment. I could not believe it, and I meant no harm by what I said,” she said.
