Watch: Andile Mpisane fails to move Pretoria crowd
Propaganda, a popular nightclub in Pretoria, hosted a ladies’ event dedicated to Amapiano. As usual, the venue was packed with a young crowd, anticipating the hard-knocking drums of the newly dominant genre.
Mpisane was on the bill to provide entertainment on the night. The 21-year-old took the stage with his crew and, suffice it to say, partygoers were far from impressed.
Mpisane gets credit for keeping things very professional and, despite blank stares from the crowd, delivering a highly energetic Gqom set.
Video footage of the crowd’s disinterested faces surfaced on the internet, going instantly viral on social media.
Here’s the clip of the embarrassing performance, shared on social media by gossip microblogger and murder-accused Musa Khawula:

Back in February 2022, Mpisane caused a stir on social media when his name appeared on the lineup of a massive legacy tour in the United States.
The Legendz of the Streetz event, held at an arena in St Louis, Missouri, was a top-draw affair, with headliners such as DJ Drama, Gucci Mane, Jeezy and Rick Ross on the bill.
Murmurs did the rounds on how he may have scored such a gig, but nonetheless, he forged ahead and opened up for global Hip-Hop heavyweights.
Here’s how social media judged the Pretoria crowd blunder:
I so wish i can meet Andile Mpisane and advise him to use his money to fund young upcoming artists who are talented and build something he will be proud of not this nonsense of abusing his connections and platforms— Jobe (@Mfoka_Jobe) May 27, 2022
