Veteran host and South Africa’s adopted uncle Steve Harvey weighed in on the recent controversies surrounding Kanye West.

The Yeezy founder has been vocal on social media about his detractors, in recent weeks. The Daily Show host Trevor Noah caught smoke for basically accusing Ye of harassing his ex and fuelling what, in his opinion, could turn out to be a nasty domestic abuse situation.

Legendary comedian Darryl Lynn Hughley also cross hairs with the rap-fashion impresario who, in a recent interview with VladTV, blamed Ye’s team for not getting him the mental health intervention he apparently needs.

In response to each accuser, Ye posted comments on his Instagram, terming Noah a ‘coon’, and threatening to ‘pull up’ on Hughley whom he claimed was a washed up drug addict.

On a recent episode of The Steve Harvey Morning Show, the 65-year-old stepfather of Lori Harvey placed his bet on Hughley, if he and Ye ever got to ‘scrapping’.

“Pull up, it ain’t what you want. If y’all do get to scrapping, all my cash on D.L., cause you have no idea. You been a lil politically, socially conscious rapper—we from a ass-whoopin’ era. … We from a whole ’nother era,” Harvey warned.

Mixed in with the threat, Harvey also pleaded with Mr West to hold back on the public smearing targeted at Hughley.

“Ye, c’mon man, back up a little bit. … D.L. ain’t your problem. Don’t go out there against that man’s family,” he added.

Ye has remained silent on social media, following his 24-hour Instagram suspension. The 44-year-old rap-fashion legend was booted from the Facebook-owned app for breaking community policies, although it is not clear on what grounds Ye was suspended.

The booting did not seem to phase Ye, however. The most recent sighting of the DONDA star was on Thursday 17 March 2022, when he appeared courtside at the Golden State Warriors vs Boston Celtics game, alongside his six-year-old son, Saint West.
