The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued the following weather warnings for Tuesday, 7 January 2025:
- Orange Level 5: Disruptive rain causing flooding, damage to infrastructure, and danger to life is expected in Zululand and Mkhanyakude districts of KwaZulu-Natal.
- Yellow Level 4: Disruptive rainfall causing flooding and damage to infrastructure is forecast for the northern parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the Highveld of Mpumalanga.
- Yellow Level 4: Severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail, and damaging winds are anticipated in the escarpment and Lowveld areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
- Yellow Level 2: Localized flooding and infrastructure damage are expected in the extreme eastern parts of the North West, Free State, and southwestern parts of Limpopo, including Gauteng.
• Fire Danger: Extremely high fire danger conditions are predicted for the eastern parts of the Northern Cape.

- Mpumalanga: Cloudy and cool to warm with widespread showers and thundershowers, scattered in the eastern Highveld and Lowveld.
