The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued the following weather warnings for Tuesday, 25 February 2025:

  • Yellow Level 2 Warning: Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, damaging winds, excessive lightning, and hail are expected over the northern and central parts of Limpopo. These conditions may lead to localised flooding of roads and settlements, as well as damage to infrastructure.
  • Yellow Level 2 Warning: Disruptive rain is anticipated along the extreme northeastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal, potentially causing localised flooding of settlements, roads, and bridges, and damage to infrastructure.
  • Yellow Level 1 Warning: Damaging winds, leading to difficulty in navigation at sea, are expected between Lambert’s Bay and Cape Point, extending to Cape Agulhas from the afternoon.
  • Fire Danger Warnings: Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Hantam, Khai-Ma, and Karoo Hoogland municipalities of the Northern Cape, as well as the Cederberg and City of Cape Town municipalities in the Western Cape.
