Fire danger warnings are in place for the eastern parts of the Northern Cape as well as the western and central regions of both the Free State and North West provinces due to extremely high fire danger conditions.
Heatwave conditions are also expected in the eastern parts of the North-West Province and Gauteng, spreading to the central and northern parts of the Free State until Tuesday.

Eastern Cape
In the eastern half, expect partly cloudy weather with warm conditions and afternoon thunderstorms over the interior that may reach the coast. Coastal winds will be moderate and south-westerly.
The west will have partly cloudy skies, cool along the coast but warm to hot over the interior. The afternoon might bring isolated thunderstorms in the interior and a slight chance of light rain along the coast. Winds along the coast will be moderate and south-westerly.
Free State
The Free State will start off fine and see a gradual increase in cloudiness, accompanied by hot to very hot temperatures as the day progresses.
Gauteng
Residents in Gauteng can expect fine weather with hot conditions prevailing throughout the day, intensifying to very hot temperatures in the northern regions. The UVB sunburn index is poised to reach extreme levels.
KwaZulu-Natal
The day will be fine and warm in KwaZulu-Natal, with hot temperatures in the north. The afternoon could see isolated showers and thundershowers in the south. Coastal winds will be moderate to fresh north-easterly, shifting to southerly to south-westerly in the south from the morning.
Limpopo
Limpopo is set for a fine day with hot weather conditions across the province.
Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga will experience a fine day with warm weather, although temperatures are expected to rise significantly in the Lowveld area.
North West
In the North-West Province, the weather will remain fine and transition from hot to very hot temperatures.
Northern Cape
The Northern Cape predicts a cloudy morning with very isolated thunderstorms in the interior during the early hours. The weather will become partly cloudy and range from warm to very hot in some areas. The region will experience clearing from the west by the afternoon. Coastal wind conditions are expected to be moderate to fresh, strengthening in the afternoon.
Western Cape
The Western Cape will have cloudy and warm weather, cooling down along the coast. Morning light rain is forecasted over the extreme southwestern parts, extending to the south coast by the afternoon. The region will see clearing from the north by evening. Coastal winds will be variable in the morning north of Table Bay, later becoming moderate to fresh and shifting from the west to south-west.
