Grant dates for December 2024 confirmed
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has outlined the payment schedule for December 2024, ensuring beneficiaries are well-informed about when to expect their financial support.
The dates are as follows:
- Older Person’s or Pensioners Grants: Scheduled for Tuesday, 3 December 2024.
- Disability Grants: Set for Wednesday, 4 December 2024.
- Children’s and all other grants: Allocated for Thursday, 5 December 2024.
SASSA grant payment dates for every month in 2024
In response to the economic challenges faced by grant recipients, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced an increase in SASSA grants during his Budget Speech.
This adjustment is designed to help beneficiaries keep pace with inflation and the rising cost of living.
Here are the specifics of the grant increases and how they will be implemented throughout 2024:
- From April 2024: The old age, war veterans, disability, and care dependency grants will see an increase of R90, with an additional R10 increase coming in October 2024.
- Foster Care Grant: Beneficiaries will receive an increase of R50.
- Child Support Grant: There will be a R20 increase.
