Ntsiki Mazwai has ruptured the internet yet again, this time targeting the gay community in a series of tweets that have gone viral.
Ntsiki Mazwai targets gay men in Twitter rant
The controversial poet and sister of music icon Thandiswa Mazwai found herself in a heated debate with Twitter users over her comments about the gay community. In a single tweet that sparked outrage on social media, Ntsiki asserted that “being a gay man does not qualify you to be a woman.”
“Youre a gay man…… That’s that. Please stop trying to erase us,” she tweeted.
The viral tweet launched Mazwai’s tirade against gay men, accusing them of apparently exhibiting toxic masculinity in the community’s attempts to hijack women’s privileges. To Mazwai, the same applies to lesbians too.
Coincidentally, Mazwai’s ‘unpopular opinion’ comes days before the fourth episode of her podcast of the same name, which features a guest appearance from Mkhulu Nsingiza, an African philosophy expert who, not so long ago, courted controversy with the claim that paying lobola does not mean you’re married.
It would, however, be hard to assume Mazwai’s attack on the LGBTQIA+ community was an orchestrated move to place more eyes on her podcast since, this latest rant is right on-brand with her usual online behaviour.
