Normani fans have been lambasting the songstress for collaborating with Chris Brown, a man whose reputation as a reformed abuser remains tainted.
Normani fans boycott Chris Brown music video
Chris is only days away from delivering his 10th studio album, a remarkable milestone for the 33-year-old, and in recent weeks, he’s been on a massive rollout campaign.
Last week Friday, the Kiss Kiss star released his highly-anticipated lead single Call Me Every Day featuring Wizkid, which promises to be a TikTok sensation in the weeks to come.
With less than 72 hours remaining in the wait for his new album, Chris premiered the music video of his April 2022 release WE (Warm Embrace), on Tuesday. The dreamy visuals saw Chris fighting a gravitational pull toward the woman of his dreams – enter Normani.
The former member of Fifth Harmony does not offer vocal assistance on the song, but her steamy dance routine brought an intense sexual energy to the music video.
Normani reposted a snippet of the video and thanked Chris Brown for instilling a bit of trust in her. Chris returned the appreciation in an Instagram story.
It seems, however, that Normani’s explicit grinding on the knees of a man despised by women for his violent past did not translate well to her fanbase.
Here are some of the reactions to Normani’s feature on WE.

I’ll always support you @Normani but I’m very disappointed and feel very disrespected that you would collaborate with someone who has said many nasty things towards DARK SKIN women and did many more horrific things. Do better.
