On Thursday evening, Norma Mngoma sat down with eNCA‘s Silindelo Masikane for a tell-all interview about the shoddy movements of her estranged husband, Malusi Gigaba.
Norma Mngoma dishes the dirt on Gigaba
As expected, Mngoma didn’t mince her words when she described her experience being married to the former home affairs minister for six years.
It was one gob-smacker after the other, as Masikane confronted Mngoma with hard questions related to his dealings with the Gupta family and how deep he may have been in state capture.
Above that, though, Mngoma took viewers behind the closed doors of a marriage that was marred with deceit and infidelity. Her calm demeanour was almost chilling when she detailed the ins and outs of life as a minister’s wife.
She wasn’t allowed to take pictures when and where she wanted. Heaps of money, allegedly gifted by the Guptas, would find their way in his grasp and it was never declared. Gifts and meetings at Saxonworld, Mngoma was intentional in everything she revealed about the minister.
Five shocking things she said
We have surmised the 30-minute interview into five shocking things Mngoma said about her estranged husband.
- He always watches porn
The minister’s sexual life was further exposed by Mngoma, who claimed the minister was addicted to porn.

- He wanted to be president
It seems Gigaba’s loyalty to former president Jacob Zuma was a strategic move in his ambitions to becoming a future head of state and leader of the ANC.
- His life is not in threat
Mngoma scoffed at claims that her estranged husband’s life was in threat.
“He only started using bodyguards after the court appearance (referring to her malicious damage to property case filed by Gigaba),” she said.
- His sister worked for the Guptas
The scorned wife also detailed how the former minister was very clear that nobody could know one of his three sisters worked for the Gupta family, at his request.
- He lied under oath
When asked about Gigaba’s participation in state capture, Mngoma made it abundantly clear that Gigaba was not being truthful when he was probed about his relationship with the Guptas by Parliament and the State Capture Inquiry.
