DEVELOPING – Reports coming from our sources indicate a shooting incident reportedly unfolded in or around a Pick n Pay outlet in The Tramshed, on Monday.
Pick n Pay Tramshed shooting: Here’s what we know
Details about the reported incident are still sketchy. However, reliable sources tell us law enforcement was called to the retailer after a male unleashed a wave of shock when he allegedly turned a loaded gun to himself before pulling the trigger in full view of shoppers.
Reports from eyewitnesses, albeit unverified, suggest the man took his own life over a relationship dispute.
“A man just shot himself at PicknPay Tramshed over a woman who didn’t want to take him back,” one source indicated.
This claim, of course, remains unconfirmed as more details surface.
A request for comment from The Tramshed was not received when this story was published.
It’s believed the shopping centre and the supermarket will resume normal operations on Tuesday, as forensic teams and authorities continue their work of collecting evidence and statements.
The man’s identity remains unknown at this time.
