Budding actress Lorraine Moropa has had enough. The 23-year-old took to her Instagram page to vent out her frustration with the grotesque behaviour exhibited by one of her colleagues on the SABC 2 telenovela Lithapo.
Lorraine Moropa exposes sexual harassment culture on Lithapo
On the soapie, Lorraine Moropa plays the raunchy role of Paballo, a 21-year-old slay queen who dates older men for a living, alongside the likes of Joyce Skefu, Seputla Sebogodi, Mangaliso Ngema, Israel Zulu and Sthandiwe Kgoroge.
For the 23-year-old, getting a big break of this magnitude was a lifetime opportunity she could not fumble with. All she needed was a bit of grooming and mentorship from her veteran colleagues.
In her own words, she most certainly did not need to be preyed on by men with daughters who are in her age group. Without naming and shaming this ‘senior’ actor, Moropa described the ordeal she has faced on the show, most of which happened in full view of her colleagues.
“Imagine working with someone who undresses you from how he looks at you. Someone that grabs their genitals on a set while looking at your ass or grabs your ass and laughs it off in front of a crew (yes my cases have always been in the presence of my colleagues). That to me is worse than a slap in the face,” she wrote.
Moropa hinted at the fact that she has not enjoyed her start to her acting career, as a target to a man who fails, at every turn, to control his cravings.
“This is a father, who also happens to speak highly of their daughter whom by the way, is practically my age and also in the industry. I wonder if he would appreciate his daughter coming home with half the stories I have to go home and tell my mother due to his actions,” she added.
