Cassper Nyovest has finally dropped off South African Hip-Hop’s most anticipated album Any Minute Now and it is everything we expected it to be.
We listened to Any Minute Now: This is what we think of the album
The rapper’s fifth studio album marks his return to Hip-Hop and listening to his pen, Mufasa had a lot to get off his chest.
The first third of Any Minute Now is Nyovest’s platform to address all of his detractors. We have a few names we can pull to speculate who he was addressing on To Whom It May Concern.
On 1 Of 1, he speaks directly to his haters — and he has many cloaked as his supporters — when he croons over a boom-bap slap, “ain’t nobody who can do it like me.”
While the album has its lows which may expose the absence of hunger in his approach to creating music (come on, he’s filthy rich), it sure does live up to the hype. Personal favourites on the record are Thoughts, Egyptian Cloth and Nobody Knows.
