The man believed to be responsible for the shooting, Mohamed Konate, was arrested by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the New York City Police Department. He faces three counts of attempted murder, three counts of armed robbery, aggravated assault, and weapons-related offences.
As reported by TMZ, sources within New York’s law enforcement confirmed the 21-year-old was allegedly targeted in a shooting that took place in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, in Edgewater, New Jersey (NJ).
Details around the incident are still unclear, at this time. Therefore, the rapper’s current condition is unknown, and the suspects believed to be involved in the alleged shooting are presumed to be still at large.
Authorities, it’s believed, are still mapping the origins of the incident, after it was reported that, at the time Lil Tjay was reportedly injured, at least two shootings were recorded: one near a popular chipotle restaurant, and another near a petrol station.
According to TMZ sources, both crime scenes had victims. The second victim remains unknown, at this stage.
The reported Lil Tjay shooting comes hours after he posted this cryptic story on Instagram, warning fans about people close to his circle who, in his opinion, feel “entitled to the fruits of [my] labour.”
“Envy is at an all-time high be safe outchea,” he wrote.
