Renowned DJ and broadcaster Lerato Kganyago is all the rage on social media following her unveiling of the Valentine’s Day gift she received.
Lerato Kganyago showered with hotel for Valentine’s Day
The 39-year-old broke the internet in 2021 when her husband Thami Ndlala splurged more than R4 million to secure a private Valentine’s Day dinner at the FNB stadium.
This year, the ante was raised to unchartered heights.
On Monday, Kganyago was gifted with ownership of the popular 12 on Hillel Hotel and Spa, and its accompanying upmarket restaurant.
It’s unclear, at this stage, if the entire acquisition was funded by Ndlala but, in the post Kganyago published on Instagram, she acknowledged his involvement in making the deal happen.
“Some of you might have seen what it looked like before, a few months ago when I posted it on my [Instagram] stories. I can’t wait for you to see the final product. HE said ‘stop stressing hold my Taelo umfazi wam, let me show you something.’,” she wrote.
Kganyago hauls Bathu to court in R315K lawsuit
Elsewhere, the Metro FM broadcaster is seeking financial relief from Theo Baloyi, the owner of Bathu, a local sneaker designer and manufacturer.
As reported by Sunday World, Kganyago’s agency Alchemy Consult is representing the DJ in retrieving the remaining balance of her R600 000 ambassadorship deal with Bathu, which was inexplicably terminated mid-contract.
From what we understand, the 39-year-old was recruited as a front-line representative of the local sneaker brand in March 2021, and part of the 12-month agreement involved her making public appearances at store openings in and around the country.
According to Alchemy Consult, the R285 000 was paid to the broadcaster, in two tranches. However, her contract was terminated without her knowledge and despite promises, she was never paid the remaining balance in her R600 000 agreement.
No new information has since surfaced on the progress of the lawsuit and neither Kganyago nor Baloyi’s representatives were available to respond to our questions at the time this article was published.
