Kendrick Lamar sent the internet into pandemonium when, on Monday, he confirmed in a pgLang-certified statement that his new album, the last offering under Top Dawg Entertainment, is coming in less than a month.
Kendrick Lamar new album: When is the release date?
Mr Morale & The Big Steppers is the title of Lamar’s fourth studio album. Some might argue it is his fifth since, in some circles, Section 80 is considered album material and not a mixtape.
Alas, the Los Angeles native has returned to the circuit after five years and if his guest appearance on his cousin Baby Keem’s Family Ties was any indication of what to expect from his upcoming release, then Hip-Hop’s Top 5 has a lot to be worried about.
Kendrick Lamar’s new album is scheduled for release on Friday 13 May 2022, and fans of the rapper will know that there may be a historic significance tied to this day which may be central to the project’s theme. After all, nothing is random in Lamar’s artistic expression — and presentation.
However, we will have to bide our time until the album drops to get the full scope of where Lamar’s been in the past five years.
Here are some of the reactions we picked out following the announcement:
