It has been a torrent 24 hours for Molemo ‘Jub Jub’ Maarohanye and his career, after actress Amanda Du-Pont accused him of sexual abuse and worse, attempted murder.
Moja Love Tv suspends Jub Jub
In a 17-minute-long tell-all posted on her Instagram page, Du-Pont detailed the horrific two-year relationship she was subdued to with Maarohanye. The actress revealed, in great detail, the scale of sexual abuse she allegedly endured from the rapper, as an up-and-coming actress.
He allegedly forced himself into a sexual escapade with Du-Pont who, at the time, was a virgin saving herself for marriage. The actress also discounted claims he’d made in a recent episode of MacG’s controversial Podcast and Chill that she left him as a result of his love affair with Kelly Khumalo.
According to Du-Pont, the day she found the courage to escape Jub Jub’s clutches was when he suffocated her, in an alleged attempt to end her life.
Following the shocking revelations, which include gob-smacking allegations made about Oprah Winfrey, Moja Love TV, a Multichoice channel, released a statement confirming the rapper has been placed on suspension.
“Jub Jub conducted an interview on Podcast and Chill with MacG, which aired on Channel O yesterday, in his personal capacity. Moja Love was not part of the editorial of that interview and is not associated with the content thereof. As a channel, though we don’t condone any Gender Based Violence in any way and under any circumstances. As Moja Love, we have decided to suspend Jub Jub,” the statement read.

As Moja Love, we have decided to suspend Jub Jub.
Is this the end of Uyajola 9/9?
Fans were left bemused by the channel’s stance on the matter, which mimics its handling of Bishop Makamu’s sex scandal.
In the statement, no mention was made of the fate of Uyajola 9/9 which, in April 2021, was DStv’s most-watched reality TV show. From what we understand, Jub Jub’s contract with Moja Love TV has been placed on hold, but not terminated.
Moreover, with more women coming forth with their allegations of sexual abuse levelled against the rapper and host, no decisive action has been taken by Channel O, Moja Love TV or any of his business partners.
Here’s how social media reacted to Moja Love’s suspension notice.
Capitalism. People who are damaged goods are cheap. Moja Love is low-brow, low-budget TV. An equivalent "celebrity" in terms of fame/notoriety without Jub Jub's baggage would have cost them much more. Relative to their viewership he provides incredible value for money.

Selective criticism is the reason why GBV will not be solved. Some idiots even defend an offender simply because he's their fave artist/he hosts their fave TV show. Watch them say Moja Love must reinstate Jub Jub at #Uyajola99 the same way they said Somizi must return to #idolssa
