August Alsina has just become the new face of petty. The shamed R&B singer took it all to unchartered territories when he teamed up with Rick Ross to release a tell-all song titled Entanglements.
Why is August Alsina and ‘entanglements’ synonymous?
For those who’ve just returned from Plymouth Rock without a clue on why ‘entanglement’ is a constant trending topic on social media, we will bring you up to speed.
To promote the release of his third studio album The Product III: State of Emergency, Alsina shook the virtual world when he revealed that he and Jada Pinkett-Smith had been romantically involved.
We came to find out, from the Smiths, that this was indeed true but that in Jada’s view, it was an entanglement that occurred at the worst phase of her marriage with Will Smith.
This was all Rick Ross’ idea
It must be said, for all the attention Alsina’s bombshell exposè garnered, it did not translate very well on the sales performance of his album.
The Product III: State of Emergency debuted at #48 on the Billboard 200 album chart, moving less than 19 000 units in the first week.
The idea to release a song titled Entanglements can be credited to the man featured on it, multimillionaire and Lemon Pepper wing extraordinaire Rick Ross.
Rozay was one of the few people in Alsina’s corner when the world came crashing for the young singer. He knew one fact that was irrefutable: Alsina’s talkability can yield profits if executed to perfection.

Rightly so, someone in Alsina’s team must have picked up on Ross’ advice and approached the Maybach Music rapper about a collaboration, or rather, a musical entanglement.
The song was hastily released on Sunday and it is now available on every digital streaming platform. You can check it out below:
