Jermaine Cole (J. Cole) has surprised fans with a brand new single Snow On Tha Bluff where it seems he is responding to the criticism he and other influential black celebrities received from Noname.
J. Cole surprises fans with new single
J. Cole is not one for controversy. His illustrious career was not built from the currency of bad press. We hardly ever hear from the Fayetteville rapper unless he has something to get off his chest.
This time, without so much as a smoke signal to alert us of his whereabouts, J. Cole dropped off a new single.
The rapper did not take the popular route and address the current uprising in the United States (US). Instead, he took some introspection and relayed everything he realised after reading the criticism that was dished out by Noname.
Here’s why we believe he is addressing Noname
Anyone who followed the young female artist knows two facts about Noname: (1) she goes hard for ‘black’; and (2) her love for books has opened up her third eye and so she sees things a lot different than most people do.
J. Cole acknowledges this in Snow On Tha Bluff. The rapper admits that people’s misconception about his supreme intelligent is founded on the assumption that he is Einstein for graduating in college with a summa cum laude.
The K.O.D rapper concedes to his average IQ and agrees with Noname’s sentiment. He recognises her impressive wokeness but finds concern with the approach she takes to address people she is not in agreement with.
J. Cole implores Noname to “treat people like children, understanding the time and love and patience that’s needed to grow.”
