Mzayifani ‘iFani’ Boltina may have suffered a hard fall from grace in his music career but the blows he received on Friday for his misplaced joke about Boity Thulo will surely leave scarring he won’t heal from anytime soon.
What iFani said about Boity
The Eastern Cape rapper has made a name for himself as a comedic relief caricature in rap music, using vernacular lyrics to accompany his outrageously over-the-top antics.
For an avid South African music feind, he bares the marks of a reincarnated Pitch Black Afro, except, his is an overgrown afro fade.
On Friday, and in the midst of ongoing buzz around recent developments in the saga involving Thulo and broadcaster Bujy Bikwa, iFani thought it would be sound to inform the public of his lusts for the Def Jam rapstress.
In a tweet, iFani wrote:
“If God gave me a chance to hit Boity [Thulo], I wouldn’t use a bottle.”

To hit Boity
I wouldn't use a bottle.
🌶🍑
The Eastern Cape rapper took off with what he thought was a punchy play on words, except, the landing was turbulent, to say the least. Instead of being cheered for his ‘dark’ wit, iFani got owned by social media commenters.
Here are a few reactions from the backlash:

Latest updates on Boity and Bujy saga
It’s been a day since a leaked audio recording and images from the alleged brawl that left Thulo with facial injuries surfaced on social media.
The rapstress has kept a low profile, only popping up to interact with fans who’ve shown her support as she recovers from a facial injury allegedly caused by Bikwa’s blind rage.
The accused abuser finally furnished a response to the mess that broke out after the leaks, apologising unreservedly for his actions.
“I regret that it happened and also accept the occurrence as unacceptable behaviour,” he wrote.
Bikwa has asked for privacy as the matter is now in the hands of the courts, where he faces assault charges.
