Ian Alexander Jr, or Desdune as he was affectionately known by his fanbase, passed away and tweets he posted days before sent chills across social media.
Ian Alexander Jr dies: What’s the cause of death?
Alexander, who is the only son of veteran Hollywood actress Regina King, was pronounced dead on Friday, the news of his untimely passing confirmed in a statement sent to People by his family.
“Our family is devastated at the deepest level by the loss of Ian. He is such a bright light who cared so deeply about the happiness of others. Our family asks for respectful consideration during this private time. Thank you,” the statement read.
Alexander, the second-coming of his father Ian Alexander Sr, had just turned 26 last week Wednesday. However, the love and care he may have been coddled with on the day was not enough to persuade him from taking his own life.
King, who recently starred in the Netflix hit movie The Harder They Fall, has kept away from social media — understandably so. She and her son were inseparable,
“You don’t know what unconditional love is. You may say you do, but if you don’t have a child, you don’t know what that is. When you experience it, it’s the most fulfilling [thing] ever,” she said about her son in 2007, soon after her unbundling from Ian Sr was finalised.
Alexander Jr tweets before death haunt fans
Looking for clues on Alexander Jr’s mental state, fans flocked to analyse captions he had posted before his untimely death. On Instagram, posting on his Desduné page, the 26-year-old had a DJing gig at BARDOT, an upmarket nightclub in Hollywood, CA, to look forward to.
On Twitter, however, Desduné was a lot more candid about his thoughts. These tweets, posted on the morning of Saturday 15 January 2022, just a week before he took his own life, left fans gob-smacked, with some believing this may have been a cry for help that went unheard.
