South African DJ Ntombezinhle Jiyane (DJ Zinhle) revealed that she and Black Motion’s Bongani “Murdah Bongz” Mahosana have apparently been secretly married for six months.
The businesswoman and Murdah welcomed Asante Mohosana in September 2021. Asante is both Zinhle’s and Murdah’s second child. The DJ has a daughter with rapper AKA, and Bongz also has a son from a previous relationship.
In the first episode of season two of the show, ‘DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected’, fans were in for a huge shock when she broke the news.
Are DJ Zinhle and Murdah Bongz actually married?
DJ Zinhle: The Unexpected aired on Saturday, 6 August 2022, and the businesswoman dropped the bombshell. She’s married to her second baby daddy!
DJ Zinhle went on to reveal on the reality show that Murdah wants to be called a husband and not a boyfriend.
“Bongani wants to be served husband. He doesn’t want to be called boyfriend anymore,” she said.
DJ Zinhle explained that six months ago, Murdah and his family came over to her mom’s house for their lobola negotiations.
“Bongani and his family came to my mom’s house to negotiate lobola. And we decided that it should be a small thing, with just family,”
Zinhle also claims that they decided to keep everything quiet because Bongz’s family wanted something lowkey and small. They also decided to save the news for her reality show reveal.
Why did DJ Zinhle change her mind on marriage?
The mom of two has previously said she had no intentions of getting married. She said she was never with anyone she wanted to actually marry.
“I just never had ambitions to get married. I never wanted it, I never felt like I was with anyone I wanted to marry but Bongani and I spent a lot of time talking about it thinking about what we want to do,” she said.
After the couple had a heart-to-heart about the matter, she realised that she would be excited to be Murdah’s wife. The businesswoman also revealed that she loves telling people she’s officially married.
“I’m excited to be his wife, I’m excited to try something I never would of thought would happen for me. So now I’m married and I love telling people that,” she explained.
Many Mzansi fans were not too surprised by the reveal. In March 2022, there were alleged rumours that Bongz paid lobola for DJ Zinhle. It was also alleged that their visit to Paris was to celebrate their marriage ceremony.
