US comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked by a deranged fan at a show in Los Angeles (LA) and, suffice it to say, things did not end particularly ‘swell’ for the battered 23-year-old Isaiah Lee.
Isaiah Lee: Who is Dave Chappelle’s attacker?
Per TMZ, Lee was escorted out of the Hollywood Bowl, where Chappelle was performing on Tuesday night, on a stretcher, after he was ruffled and shuffled by the comedian’s security.
According to eyewitnesses, Lee spooked the audience, Chappelle too, when he bomb-rushed on stage carrying what, at first, appeared to be a weapon.
The auditorium went into absolute pandemonium when Lee ‘speared’ Chappelle to the ground and pointed the gun at him. What the 23-year-old had not considered, was the consequence that befell him, as security, as well as the comedian’s concerned friends, swooped in to hand the attacker a proper pummelling.
The cited publication lists Jamie Foxx and Busta Rhymes as alleged participants in the beatdown. This video footage, showing Lee sent off on a stretcher with a dislocated arm and a bruised face, surfaced on social media.

Fortunately, Lee did not ruin the occasion for the audience. In fact, the entire ordeal culminated in a wildly ironic cameo from Chris Rock, who sent the crowd into raucous laughter when he mockingly asked: “Was that Will Smith?”
