Bonang Matheba has been the subject of criticism over her new brand partnership with Nivea, but, in true ‘Queen B’ fashion, she was the one with the last laugh.
Here’s how Bonang Matheba silenced her haters
The House of BNG founder attracted negative feedback earlier in the week when she was unveiled as the skincare ambassador for Nivea, a German personal care brand that specialises in skin and body care.
“Nivea, welcome to the B-Force!” she tweeted.
The creative used in the announcement showed Matheba’s dolled-up face seemingly applying moisturising cream over her makeup, and that absolutely rubbed fans up the wrong way.
In true Bonang fashion, the backlash was not dignified with a response. Instead, Matheba left the quarrelling in the hands of her capable stans, knowing full and well that she had a trump card in her deck.
On Thursday, Queen B returned to social media to exact her revenge on critics who were adamant the media mogul had self-esteem issues and was, somehow, afraid to unveil her face without makeup.
Suffice it to say, the revenge was as sweet as her well-nourished natural face.
Matheba sent her critics with their tales tucked between their legs when she uploaded a skincare tutorial.
Of course, the video was a branded campaign promoting the German products, but more than anything, for her stans, especially, Matheba surfacing in a video with no makeup was a response to vessels who, for eons, have bellowed falsities about the health of her natural skin.
