US on-screen personality and part-time rapper Blac Chyna will have to go back to the drawing board to figure out her next move after the defamation lawsuit she filed against the Kardashians was thrown out of court.
Here’s why Blac Chyna lost her dafamation lawsuit
On Monday, a Los Angeles (L.A) jury determined, after hearing testimony from Chyna and the Kardashians, that the former romantic partner of Rob Kardashian Jr was neither defamed nor was her contract for the E! Network spin-off, Rob & Chyna, sabotaged by the reality TV family’s matriarch, Kris Jenner.
Per ABC7, jurors took approximately 10 hours to deliberate on the case and while issues were found with the manner in which the Kardashians treated Chyna, these weren’t enough to support the claims made by Dream Kardashian’s mother.
Chyna, you will remember, sought $100 million (est. R1.61 billion) in relief after, she claims, her reality TV career was tarnished by the abrupt end to her show with Rob, whom she had broken up with around the time E! Network pulled the plug on it.
The jurors concluded that the reality TV show ended simply because there is no Rob & Chyna without the neither participant present in the relationship.
While Chyna was present for the verdict, the Kardashians, who attended the trial in its entirety, were a no-show. The court heard from the family’s legal representatives that they were in New York City to attend the 2022 Met Gala.
Chyna launches GoFundMe to appeal lawsuit loss
Chyna has yet to issue a public response to the lawsuit loss but her mother, Tokyo Toni, who was kicked out of court for disorderly conduct, took it upon her stride to launch a crowdfunding campaign for her daughter’s appeal bid.
“Hi I am Shalana Hunter BKA Tokyo Toni. I would like to appeal to the public this Go Fund MeFundraiser to help my daughter, Angela R. White BKA Blac Chyna financially in this endeavor to get justice,” she writes in her GoFundMe page.
Thus far, with a goal of $400 000 (est. R6.4 million), Chyna had only garnered one donation at the time this article was published.
