Bishop Israel Makamu will be back on our screens with full effect as the long-staying presenter of Moja Love TV’s Rea Tsotella.
Bishop Makamu reinstated as Rea Tsotella host
It seems that the humiliation Makamu suffered since the audio leak is something he, his family and employer Moja Love TV are ready to move on from.
In a statement, the cable network channel confirmed that Makamu has reassumed his position as the host of the popular reality TV show after mediation talks between him, a professional and all parties involved resulted in an agreement “on an amicable way forward.”
Makamu returns to his job in the midst of an ongoing sexual assault charge unrelated to the audio leak where the bishop was heard soliciting intimate relations with a member of his Endless Hope Bible Church.
The matter currently with the courts pertains to an incident that allegedly took place at the bishop’s church premises in 2018.
The woman pursuing charges against Makamu claims the Rea Tsotella host made unwanted sexual advances towards her in his church offices.
The case was scheduled for Thursday where Makamu was expected to appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
However, ongoing shutdown riots forced a cancellation and the matter has been moved to a later date.
Regarding the controversy of welcoming Makamu back in the midst of an ongoing sexual assault case, Moja Love TV said:
“We cannot make any comments because it is still before the law.”
