Berita, it seems, is ready to move on to the next chapter of her ‘booked and busy’ single life, in the midst of Nota Baloyi‘s ongoing meltdown.
Berita responds to Nota Baloyi meltdown
The Afrosoul songstress, whose real name is Gugulethu Khumalo, is high-sailing in her personal life. The Thandolwethu star has been on a Euro tour, serenading audiences at private weddings with her angelic voice.
“My performance in Malaga, Spain was wonderful. Up next Germany,” she wrote in a tweet, on Thursday.
Berita’s booking calendar continues to fill up, with shows confirmed in South Africa and Botswana later in August 2022. Of course, in the eyes of her estranged husband, her happiness in singlehood was, bizarrely, an indication that the songstress was possessed by what he terms the ‘slay queen demon’.
“It hurts to have to go through this publicly but no man can sit idly by as his wife destroys her own life with the world watching and our enemies cheering,” he wrote.
Baloyi went on a meltdown, accusing his estranged wife of allegedly demanding an allowance, betraying their vows, and, essentially, being a manipulator.
In another truly bizarre tweet, Baloyi claimed he and Berita were apparently preparing for a fundraiser to support Zimbabwe’s voter registration ahead of the country’s 2023 elections.
For the most part, Berita has not entertained her estranged husband’s public meltdown. However, in a cryptic tweet, which may have loosely referenced her own personal situation, the songstress declared that “life goes on.”
When asked by a fan if she would ever publicly smear Baloyi, Berita simply took the diplomatic approach and said:
“[To be honest] I don’t think like that. I wish him well. I wish he can be content and happy within himself.”
You will remember that in early July 2022, Berita made headlines when she issued a series of shockers, basically categorically stating that she no longer recognised herself as the wife of Baloyi.
Berita had made these remarks at the height of outrage over her estranged husband’s disturbing comments about Mihlali Ndamase.
“I have been quiet because my safely has been a huge concern. This man is extremely irresponsible, reckless and unruly. He simply does not listen to anyone. I do not condone his actions. I cannot even begin to count the numerous times he has erred in his speech,” she wrote at the time.
