Why was Arthur Mafokate admitted to hospital?
The Mnike hitmaker took to Instagram on Monday to share a picture of himself laying on a hospital bed with an intravenous line attached to his arm. The 59-year-old shared that he was admitted to hospital on Wednesday 17 November 2021 for a condition he would not reveal.
“Thanks to the humble and dedicated medical team at the hospital, and to all of you that have been wishing me well since Wednesday after reading my WhatsApp status, like the message said that I will not respond to you all, but I read all your messages and appreciate all your support, may The Lord bless You in abundance,” he wrote.
Mafokate, in an interview with The People’s Paper last week, had hinted that his health was deteriorating, but that it was not due to issues related to COVID-19.
Moreover, the Kwaito pioneer thanked friends who’d been informed of his hospital admission for not sharing details of the health scare to his parents.
“Thanks for keeping it a secret to my parents and saving them from stress they could have went through had they been aware as of Tuesday that I was not fine,” he wrote.
Fortunately, the ailment that forced him to hospital was treated and at the time of publishing, Mafokate had returned home.
