The defamation trial between veteran actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard entered its second part, with the latter taking the stand to tell her side of the story, under oath.
Amber Heard testimony: Five shockers she made about Johnny Depp
In what has turned out to be a relationship trial Hollywood scriptwriters will probably pull ideas from, Heard may have a steep hill to overcome after Depp’s testimony.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star accused Heard of derailing his career after accusing him of abuse and sexual assault when, in fact, she was the aggressor in their five-year relationship.
Depp relied heavily on recorded videos and audio to substantiate his point that, contrary to the 2018 op-ed she wrote, published by The Washington Post, which ultimately cost him is hard-earned buzzing career, he was the real victim of abuse.
Heard’s turn came on Wednesday when she took the stand to tell her side of the story, and boy, did she not waste a nano-second getting right down to it.
Here are the five gob-smacking claims Heard has made about Depp, thus far:
The first time Depp allegedly hit her
Shortly after her intro, Heard recounted the first time she was allegedly struck by Depp. It was early on in their relationship and she was over at the actor’s place. Depp, Heard claims, was inebriated and near his grasp, was a jar of white powder she assumed was cocaine.
The cuddling session the couple enjoyed allegedly switched into violence in a span of seconds. This, Heard testified, occurred after she made remarks about a tattoo Depp has on his arm with the words ‘Wino’.
Heard claims Depp slapped her at least three times calling her the b-word in the process. When she was about to leave, the actress claims Depp’s demeanour switched and he was begging for her forgiveness.
The couple, according to Heard, brushed the alleged bizarre moment aside after consultation later that day.
Depp was a paranoid, jealous partner
The alleged smacking was only the start to what Heard described in her op-ed, and subsequent testimony inside the Fairfax County Circuit Court, as five years of horror.
For the most part, the actress told the court, a level of violence was sustained in the couple’s relationship purely because Depp was allegedly a paranoid and jealous partner.
Heard told the court that the actor would drop in at her place unannounced, allegedly looking to catch her ‘in the act’.
Depp has a dark side to him
Barely able to contain her emotions, Heard told the court that unbeknownst to the public, Depp had a dark side to him he referred to as ‘the monster’.
Going back to the memory of the first time he allegedly struck her, Heard claims Depp apologised for slapping her and assured her that he’d “put the f***er away”, referencing, in this case, the ‘monster’ that resides in him.
He allegedly violated her nether regions in search of cocaine
One thing the court’s learned on the first day of Heard’s testimony is that Depp had taken up a keen liking for cocaine. So much so, Heard claims, he allegedly searched inside her private part looking for a pack he believed she was hiding from him.
According to the actress, the incident took place inside a trailer during a group getaway to Hicksville Trailer Palace, in Joshua Tree, California.
The MDMA incident on a flight to Russia
Heard also told the court about an alleged incident that took place on a flight to Russia. The actress claims after taking an MDMA pill, things got steamy inside the private jet.
Heard added that Depp had, somehow, managed to convince the flight attendant to join in on the ‘trip’ but, things got awry when, allegedly, Heard and the unidentified woman got a little too comfortable with each other.
According to the actress, a jealous Depp slammed the flight attendant’s wrist on the table and allegedly put an end to the entire ‘sexcapade’.
Heard is expected to resume her testimony on Thursday. Depp’s attorneys, on the other hand, will look forward to cross-examining the actress.
