South African rapper AKA must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed on Thursday. The man had some interesting things to get off his chest.
AKA brags about being a gatekeeper
As expected, the rapper, much like every star of his stature in world entertainment, is probably bombarded with pleas from up-and-coming talents seeking a shot at getting a co-sign or, at the very least, free game.
But, in AKA’s opinion, access to his undivided attention, or better yet, his educated input, is earned.
The rapper took to social media, on Thursday morning, and blasted a fan for complaining about not getting the opportunity to showcase his beats to the Fela In Versace star.
Not only did AKA blatantly ignore the fan’s message, he opted to publicly shame the up-and-comer for taking a leap of faith.
“Yall think this game is for everybody. Newsflash. 90% of everybody’s music is [trash]. I had to exchange many numbers before we could even get the CHANCE to be in the same studio as KHULI [Chana], or KO, or Linda [ProKid] … you think you gone just text me and I’m just gonna put you on my back? You dreaming. Big time,” he said.
While the rapper’s post was endorsed by the likes of Khuli, the majority of commenters reminded Bhova about humility.
Here are some of the reactions we picked out:
