The 2022 BET Awards took place on Sunday, and while the night’s winners were given their proper dues, a lot else took place that made it a night to remember, for sure.
Watch: Kanye West pays tribute to Diddy
Performances by Chance The Rapper and Joey Badass, Chlöe Bailey, and a full-circle moment for Latto who shared the stage with Mariah Carey for their chart-topping Big Energy remix, were some of the night’s best moments.
However, much of the talk on social media came when it was time to honour Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs with a Lifetime Achievement award. Tributes from the Bad boy founder’s inner circle, including an on-screen message from Jay-Z, made for the perfect preamble to Diddy’s acceptance speech.\

But, before Diddy could have his moment, Kanye ‘Ye’ West, who was supposed to share the honour of handing the award with Babyface, ended up taking to the mic to grace the audience with his off-the-top tribute.
