South Africa woke up to a truly blue Monday after it was confirmed that daughter of political icons, Nelson and Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, Zindzi has passed away.
Zindzi Mandela dies: What’s the cause of death?
As reported by eNCA, the 59-year-old ambassador to Denmark lost her life at a hospital in Johannesburg, in the wee hours of Monday morning.
At this time, it is not what the cause of her death is related to. This, we suspect, will be revealed at an appropriate time.
Zindzi Mandela is survived by four children and her husband, Molapo Mothlajwa. However, even more so, it is her fiery legacy which takes after her unapologetic mother that she will be remembered for.
A product of polarising figures in politics, Zindzi was always seen as the next generation leader of the Mandela dynasty. She cared about a rainbow nation future where we are all equal but she was outrightly unapologetic about the plight of black people and at times, her utterances got her in hot water.
Details of her memorial and funeral service — in light of the times — are yet to be revealed and we will have the rolling updates as they trickle in.
