The family of former Uzalo actor Sipho Ngema is still reeling in the shock of his death.
Sipho Ngema death confirmed: What caused it?
As reported by Tshisa Live, Sipho Ngema lost his life to heart failure at a Johannesburg hospital, on Tuesday evening.
“He passed away [on Tuesday] night at 22:15 at a hospital in Johannesburg. He suffered from pulmonary hypertension, which caused his heart to fail. The family is currently discussing details of his burial,” Mbali Ngema, the daughter of the actor, confirmed to the publication.
It has been two days since tragedy struck the Ngema family but some are barely able to come to terms with the news, Mbali added.
“The family is not well. Some are still calling to confirm his death. We have received a million phone calls from his friends and colleagues. The support has truly been humbling. He really was loved,” she said.
Who was Sipho Ngema?
The 47-year-old has had a successful acting career but South African masses fell in love with him when he joined Uzalo as Terror. Prior to this, Ngema featured in these soapie titles:
- Rhythm City as Raymond;
- Stash as a drug boss; and
- e.tv‘s Isipho.
His daughter stated that she will always remember him as a happy father who wore the warmest smile.
“I will definitely miss his voice and love for music. To the world, he seemed hardcore and strict, but he was a genuine softie to his six children,” she told Tshisa Live.
