Veteran music producer, Sello Chicco Twala, was recently filmed handing his son, Longwe Twala, over to authorities at the Diepkloof police station.
More than the shock that came with the footage of seeing a respectable member of the Twala family hauled to jail for alleged theft, it was the vitriol that escaped the mouth of Chicco Twala that peaked everyone’s interests.
Watch: Chicco Twala rants to his son about Senzo Meyiwa
In a video that has since gone viral, a disturbed Chicco Twala could be heard hurling insults directed at his son.
The details surrounding Longwe’s arrest are still not clear, All we know, from his father’s own assertions, is that he may have participated in a robbery or theft wearing Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) regalia.
Throughout the recording, Chicco Twala was heard implicating Longwe in the murder mystery of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa.
“I always said that I so wish [that] it was you who killed Senzo Meyiwa so that you can rot in jail, rot in jail,” Chicco Twala screamed.
Murder investigation into death of Meyiwa loses steam
A little over five years into the death of MKeyiwa, and law enforcement officers are nowhere near solving the case.
Longwe, along with his former girlfriend, Zandile Khumalo, her famous sister, Kelly Khumalo, and others, are all considered persons of interest in the murder investigation of the late goalkeeper.
However, after the murder probe received a boost in the latter parts of 2019, with AfriForum joining the investigation, things have hit a brick wall, yet again.
Kelly Khumalo, who was romantically involved with Meyiwa, has maintained her innocence this whole time.
With too many accounts of what happened on that fateful day in October 2014 and very little concrete evidence to piece the puzzle together, the murder case remains unsolved.
