Scoop Makhathini has offered his perspective on the recent spat between rappers AKA and Cassper Nyovest, on the hit talk show series, Pop Cast.
AKA vs Cassper feud resurfaces on Pop Cast
On the latest episode of the show which features hosts Scoop Makhathini, Vigilante, Ms Cosmo and DJ Speedsta, one of the topics covered was AKA’s Twitter meltdown.
In the early hours of Thursday 19 March, AKA sent an array of shots directed at Cassper Nyovest, calling the Motswako rapper out to a boxing match.
While it is not clear what agitated Supermega, it seemed that he was done playing the subliminal game. He was out for blood and this time, nobody was going to get in his way.
However, the Touch My Blood star drew ire from many who read his tweets about Nyovest’s parents. Some celebrities voiced out their discontent with the level of disrespect AKA showed towards elderly people who had absolutely nothing to do with his rap beef with Nyovest.
Feeling the pressure, AKA stepped forward a day later and apologised for his indiscretions. Nyovest, on the other hand, made it clear that this could never be undone and that going as far as disrespecting his parents was the last straw.
This entire ordeal left a bad taste in the mouths of many, including SA Hip-Hop culture curator, Scoop Makhathini.

On the Pop Cast show, Scoop revealed how the move by AKA affected him as a fan of the musician.
“What I saw left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. It’s just distasteful. The man who gave us Composure, had he said all of those things on a track, it would have been admissible. To get on social media with that was, like, as Africans, when parents are involved…” Scoop said.
