Yanga Chief struggled to control his emotions as he went down memory lane to recall all the times he never spent with his father, in the latest insert of Riky Rick’s podcast Lab Live.
Episode six of the Cotton Club Records founder‘s show dropped on Tuesday and what started out as a straight-forward chat between mates turned into a tearjerking moment of nostalgia, where a reflective Yanga Chief opened up about scars left unhealed by his father.

The winner for this year’s SAMA Best Hip-Hop Album category for his debut album Becoming A Pop Star, remained composed for much of the 58-minute interview.
However, things turned a bit tearful when the conversation moved to the topic around the success of his leading single Utatakho.
Yanga Chief was recently awarded his first solo gold plaque for selling more than 10 000 copies of the single. For the Eastern Cape-born rapper, though, the success of the song did not collerate with the relationship he had with his dad.

Lab Live is a long-form, interview-centric, podcast founded by Riky Rick. Yanga Chief, it seems, was the sixth guest on the recently launched show.
At first, new episode of the podcast were uploaded onto the ‘Cotton FEST’ YouTube page, formerly created for content that has to do with the rapper’s annual festival.
However, it seems Lab Live has found a new home on Riky’s ‘Cotton Club Records’ YouTube page. It is unclear, at this stage, when new episodes are uploaded.
